Veil of Time

Veil of Time is a womenswear collection that explores the tension between permanence and erosion, using the metaphor of weathered statues to express the beauty found in ageing. Inspired by the sculptural forms of classical statues slowly eroded by time and nature, the collection embraces imperfection, wear, and transformation as statues change so drastically but still remain beautiful. Inspired by the muted palette of sand dune tones, with the natural beige hues balancing a sense of serenity and timelessness, while embracing the textured surfaces that come with age and erosion. Drawing on a muted palette of sand dune tones with the natural beige hues balancing a sense of serenity and timelessness, while embracing the textured surfaces that come with age and erosion. Fabrics are chosen and designed with a sense of worn texture. Draping and fabric manipulation are

centred around each look, echoing the flowing marble robes that wrap around the bodies of ancient statues and the weathered look that comes with time. Wool felting is used to sculpt soft, organic forms that mimic natural wear, adding a tactile, aged quality to the pieces. Crochet is used as a hand-crafted technique to build layers of texture that feel both delicate and worn. Veil of Time draws inspiration from designers who have redefined how we think about fabric and form. Issey Miyake’s unique textile innovations, Uma Wang’s ability to design garments with so much thought behind the textured layers, and Robert Wun’s sculptural and delicate approach to womenswear all feed into this collection’s inspiration. This collection merges fluidity and structure, blending draping and architectural elements to create an organic, sculptural design that merges art and fashion.
